  • Shah emphasized that the budget is a roadmap for a self-reliant India, addressing various sectors like education, healthcare, and investment.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for unveiling what he termed a “comprehensive and forward-looking” Union Budget 2025. He described it as a framework for making India a developed nation across all sectors, highlighting its significant benefits for the middle class.

Shah particularly emphasized the government’s decision to exempt income tax for individuals earning up to Rs 12 lakh, stating, “The middle class has always been at the heart of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies.”

In a post on X, Shah outlined the budget’s broad spectrum, covering essential areas such as support for farmers, the underprivileged, women, and children. He noted its impact on education, nutrition, healthcare, start-ups, innovation, and investments, reinforcing its alignment with Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India.

The budget, presented in Parliament by Sitharaman, introduced a significant tax relief measure: individuals earning up to Rs 12 lakh would not be required to pay income tax, and for salaried taxpayers, the threshold rises to Rs 12.75 lakh due to a Rs 75,000 standard deduction.

Sitharaman explained that tax rebates would apply to normal income, excluding special rate incomes like capital gains. However, complete exemption depends on taxpayers utilizing benefits under various sections, such as deductions under Section 80CCC and home loan interest payments.

The budget announcement was met with enthusiastic approval in Parliament, with treasury bench members applauding the proposal. Prime Minister Modi led the celebration, reinforcing the government’s commitment to economic relief for the middle class. The Lok Sabha was later adjourned and is set to reconvene on February 3 at 11 AM.

Conclusion:
The Union Budget 2025 has been widely appreciated for its inclusive approach, particularly benefiting the middle class. With substantial tax relief and sector-wide support, the budget aligns with the vision of a self-reliant and progressive India. Shah’s endorsement underlines the government’s continued commitment to economic growth and welfare.
