- Ananya Panday recently shared that she was scared of Sara Ali Khan during their school days.
- Sara, known for her outspoken nature, was three years senior to Ananya and didn’t even know her name.
- Despite this rocky start, the two have now become friends and even appeared together on Koffee With Karan.
What Made Ananya Afraid of Sara?
Bollywood stars Ananya Panday and Sara Ali Khan may seem friendly now, but Ananya recently revealed a very different story about their school days. She described Sara as “the myth” who everyone was cautious around. Sara, who was three years older than Ananya, had an outspoken personality, and Ananya would often avoid her, even taking different staircases to escape potential interactions. “If she was walking down from a certain staircase, I would walk from the other staircase,” Ananya shared with a laugh.
Ananya also revealed that Sara didn’t know her name in school and would simply call her “ae girl.” They once acted in a school play together, where Sara had the lead role and Ananya, in a smaller role, held an umbrella in the background. Ananya recounted, “She would say, ‘ae girl come here,’ not because she knew my name started with A, but because she didn’t know my name at all!” According to Ananya, Sara’s boldness was intimidating, and she remembers feeling anxious whenever Sara was nearby.
How Did They Go from School Strangers to Friends?
Despite their minimal interaction in school, the two young stars have formed a solid friendship in recent years. As Ananya entered the film industry, Sara was one of the first to welcome her, inviting her to lunches and making efforts to bridge the gap. The two actresses even appeared together on Karan Johar’s popular chat show Koffee With Karan, where they shared stories from both their personal and professional lives.
A Friendship Blossomed Over Time
Although Ananya once hid from Sara in school, the two now share a friendly bond built on mutual respect. Both actresses have embraced their journey in Bollywood, and Sara’s warm welcome helped Ananya feel more at ease in the industry. It’s clear that sometimes, first impressions don’t last forever, and friendships can blossom over time.
