Who planted the deadly IED near the border?
On Tuesday, a shocking incident occurred near the India-Pakistan border in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu district. An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated near the fence during a routine patrol, killing two Indian Army personnel, including Captain Karamjit Singh Bakshi and Naik Mukesh. The explosion has raised serious concerns about border security and the possibility of infiltration attempts.
The Indian Army’s Northern Command expressed deep sorrow over the loss and saluted the bravery of the fallen soldiers. The White Knight Corps, in an official statement, acknowledged their supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Additionally, tragedy struck again when a soldier, identified as Satyajeet Kandhol from Panipat, Haryana, allegedly died by suicide at the Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar. The incident is currently under investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the soldier’s death.

Given these developments, senior Army officials, including the General Officers Commanding (GOC) of various divisions, have visited forward areas in Rajouri to assess the security situation. The Corps Commander praised the dedication and vigilance of the troops, urging them to remain alert and prepared for any unforeseen challenges.
