YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has slammed the Supreme Court’s ruling in the ongoing India’s Got Latent controversy involving Ranveer Allahbadia. The court has ordered Allahbadia to submit his passport and seek permission before leaving the country, while also staying any further arrests related to new FIRs filed in Jaipur.
Reacting on X, Rathee called the decision the “height of stupidity”, questioning why Allahbadia was being treated as a criminal.
The Supreme Court, however, justified its stance, condemning offensive language used in the controversy and stating that popularity does not exempt individuals from societal norms. Justice Kant further criticized the remarks made, calling them a reflection of a “perverted mind” and stressing that the legal system will address any threats against Allahbadia accordingly.
Allahbadia had approached the court to challenge multiple FIRs filed against him and requested that they be consolidated into a single case. The legal proceedings remain ongoing.
