During a recent speech in Salem, Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was visibly moved as he remembered a slain BJP member, ‘Auditor’ Ramesh, who was tragically killed a decade ago. Addressing a large public gathering, PM Modi took a moment to pay homage to three individuals who had significantly contributed to the region and the party. The mention of Ramesh, however, brought a poignant pause to his speech.
“Auditor” Ramesh, a dedicated BJP state general secretary and well-respected auditor from Salem, fell victim to a brutal attack at his home in July 2013. The Prime Minister, recalling Ramesh’s tireless work for the party and his skills as an orator, expressed deep sorrow over the loss. “I can’t forget Auditor Ramesh. Unfortunately, today Ramesh is not among us. Ramesh worked hard for the party, day and night, and he was a good speaker. But he was killed. Today I pay my tributes to him,” said PM Modi, visibly emotional.
In addition to remembering Ramesh, the Prime Minister also acknowledged the late KN Lakshmanan, another significant figure in the BJP’s history in Tamil Nadu, for his immense contributions to the party.
Amidst the tributes, PM Modi criticized the INDIA bloc leaders for their repeated and deliberate insults towards Hindu dharma, suggesting that such remarks against the religion are meticulously planned. He accused the INDIA Alliance, comprising DMK and Congress, of exclusively targeting Hinduism while refraining from criticizing other religions. “The INDI Alliance people repeatedly and deliberately insult Hinduism. Notably, every statement they make against the Hindu religion is very well thought out!” Modi asserted, condemning their approach towards the Hindu faith.
The Prime Minister concluded by noting the enthusiasm for the BJP among the people of Tamil Nadu, a development he believes is causing concern for the INDI Alliance. His emotional tribute to ‘Auditor’ Ramesh and his firm stance against the perceived disrespect towards Hinduism by the opposition highlighted the multifaceted nature of his address in Salem
