A Cutting‑Edge Collaboration Launches
IIT Delhi has joined forces with TeamLease EdTech to unveil an innovative executive programme focused on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare. Spanning six months and starting November 1, 2025, the fully online course aims to equip professionals in medicine, engineering, data science, and med‑tech entrepreneurship with the latest AI tools and techniques tailored to healthcare challenges.

Who Is It For?
This programme caters to a wide spectrum of working professionals, clinicians, hospital administrators, engineers, data analysts, and rising med‑tech innovators. Designed with accessibility in mind, it welcomes candidates without prior AI experience, starting from foundational machine learning concepts and progressing toward advanced real‑world applications.

A Robust and Flexible Learning Journey
Over 24 weeks, weekend live sessions allow participants to balance work and study. The curriculum begins with theoretical principles of AI and machine learning, before advancing to technique‑rich applications such as natural language processing on electronic health records, deep learning for medical imaging, predictive analytics, AI‑driven automation, IoT‑based patient monitoring, and public health data analysis. Learners gain hands‑on practice with clinical datasets and hospital systems, culminating in a faculty‑mentored capstone project that builds AI‑enabled dashboards and decision‑support tools.

From Theory to Real‑World Impact
Beyond theory, the programme emphasizes industry engagement. Participants interact with hospital CIOs, med‑tech founders, and experts, ensuring insights into the deployment and scalability of AI solutions in real healthcare environments.

Empowering Future Careers
Graduates gain credentials and capabilities aligned with roles like AI/ML Engineer, Healthcare Data Scientist, Clinical AI Researcher, Digital Health Consultant, Medical Imaging Analyst, AI Product Manager, and Regulatory/Data Governance Specialist. The course fee stands at Rs 1.20 lakh plus 18 percent GST, payable in installments, with applications open until July 31, 2025.

Why Now? A Strategic Time to Act
The launch aligns with global and national momentum toward AI‑driven healthcare. The World Economic Forum projects AI could add over USD 150 billion annually to healthcare through better outcomes and efficiency. In India, NITI Aayog and EY anticipate the digital healthcare market, including AI diagnostics and telemedicine, will surpass USD 37 billion by 2030.

Institutional Support and Credibility
This initiative is part of IIT Delhi’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP) delivered under its eVIDYA platform, which supports professionals through live, interactive digital learning. Professor Manav Bhatnagar, Head of CEP, described AI as integral to modern medicine and said the programme empowers participants to lead transformative change in healthcare. TeamLease EdTech’s CEO, Shantanu Rooj, emphasized the course’s role in bridging clinical expertise with data intelligence.

Building on India’s AI Momentum
This executive programme mirrors broader AI efforts in Indian health sectors. Earlier in the year, IIT Delhi signed an MoU with AIIMS to establish a national Centre of Excellence in AI for Healthcare, backed by a ₹330 crore government grant. Together, the partnerships illustrate a national strategy to foster AI innovation in both clinical and systemic healthcare delivery.

Challenges and Next Steps
While interest in AI in healthcare grows, challenges remain. Integrating AI into hospital workflows demands technical adoption, regulatory compliance, and staff training. This programme helps fill that gap by preparing professionals to design and deploy AI tools in diverse environments, from diagnostics to public health systems. Participants gain not only technical know‑how but also insights into ethical, privacy, and governance issues, essential elements for real-world implementation.

A Vision for the Future of Medicine
As AI reshapes healthcare globally, this IIT Delhi initiative primes India’s workforce for leadership in AI-driven innovation. Among peers worldwide, India now benchmarks itself through graduate training geared toward practical healthcare transformation. Participants will be equipped to enhance patient care, health system efficiency, and public health outcomes.

The Road Ahead
Applications are open through the end of July 2025, with the programme beginning November 1. For professionals eager to parallel medical domain expertise with data intelligence, this is a timely chance. Whether you’re a clinician aiming to incorporate AI diagnostics or a med‑tech entrepreneur developing data-driven healthcare products, this course offers a gateway to leading India’s evolving health tech revolution.
