US President Joe Biden, although no longer actively campaigning, has continued to voice his opinions on the upcoming White House race, particularly focusing on his predecessor, Donald Trump. In a recent interview with CBS host Robert Costa, Biden shared his predictions about the potential fallout if Trump loses the 2024 election.
Biden’s Prediction on Trump’s Reaction
In his first interview since stepping down from the White House race, Biden expressed doubt about a peaceful transition of power should Trump fail to secure the presidency. “If Trump wins – no, I’m not confident at all – I mean if Trump loses I’m not confident at all,” Biden stated, suggesting that Trump might reject the election results. This concern stems from Trump’s actions following the 2020 election, where he incited his followers to demonstrate outside the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021, an event that led to a violent attack and the loss of five lives. Trump had claimed that widespread fraud had denied him a second term.
Biden on Trump’s “Bloodbath” Remark
Biden also addressed Trump’s inflammatory remarks about a potential “bloodbath” if he is not elected. Trump made this comment while criticizing Biden’s policies, particularly those promoting electric vehicle production, which he claims have damaged the American auto industry. At a rally in Dayton, Ohio, Trump declared that “it’s going to be a bloodbath for the country” if he loses the election.
Biden responded to these remarks, stating, “He means what he says, we don’t take him seriously. He means it – all the stuff about, if we lose there’ll be a bloodbath.”
Concerns About Election Integrity
Biden further highlighted his concerns about the actions of pro-MAGA authorities in the lead-up to the November elections. “Look at what they’re trying to do now in the local election districts where people count the votes. They’re putting people in place in states where they are going to count the votes, right?” he questioned, pointing to efforts to influence the voting process at the local level.
“You can’t love your country only when you win,” Biden asserted, emphasizing the importance of upholding democratic principles regardless of election outcomes.

Biden’s full interview with Robert Costa will be aired on CBS Sunday Morning, offering more insights into his views on the current political landscape and the 2024 election.
This ongoing dialogue underscores the tension and high stakes surrounding the upcoming election, reflecting the deep political divisions in the United States.
