What Happened in the NEET UG 2024 Retest?
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the results for the NEET UG 2024 retest, held for 1,563 candidates who had initially received grace marks due to lost exam time. Students can now check their revised scores on the official NTA website.
Out of the 1,563 candidates eligible for the retest, 813 appeared for the exam. Notably, none of these candidates achieved a perfect score of 720/720, leading to a reduction in the total number of perfect scores from 67 to 61. The retest was conducted in the same cities but at different centers.
The candidates were given a choice: retain their original scores without grace marks or participate in the retest for a revised score. The results of the retest will replace the original scores for those who opted to retake the exam. Meanwhile, students who chose not to participate will retain their original scores, excluding the grace marks.
The NEET UG 2024 results are still under scrutiny, with several petitions pending in the Supreme Court. Most of these petitions are scheduled for a hearing on July 8.
