Why is Ranveer Allahbadia in Trouble?
Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as “BeerBiceps,” is facing legal trouble over comments he made on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent. During the show, he asked an offensive question that sparked widespread outrage. Following this, multiple complaints were filed against him, leading to police action in various states.
The Mumbai Police summoned Allahbadia for questioning at Khar Police Station, but he failed to appear. Instead, he requested that his statement be recorded at his residence, which the police denied. When officials tried to contact him again, they found his phone switched off and his house locked.
Legal Actions and Investigations
The case has led to multiple FIRs being registered against Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, and others involved in the show. The Guwahati Police, Maharashtra Cyber Cell, and the National Commission for Women (NCW) have also taken action. Maharashtra Minister Ashish Shelar has ordered an investigation into the show and similar content being produced without proper permissions.
Allahbadia has now filed a petition in the Supreme Court to consolidate all the FIRs against him and has applied for anticipatory bail to avoid possible arrest. His case highlights the increasing scrutiny on digital content and its potential consequences for content creators.
