The automaker unveiled two of its flagship electric SUVs, the VF e34 and the VF 9, at a high-profile event in Mumbai, signaling the start of a fierce campaign to capture a share of the country’s rapidly growing EV sector.
This debut is far more than a simple product showcase; it is the tangible beginning of a multi-billion dollar strategy. VinFast’s entry into India, the world’s third-largest automobile market, is a cornerstone of its aggressive global expansion plan. The company aims to position itself as a serious competitor against both domestic manufacturers like Tata Motors and Mahindra and international giants such as Hyundai and BYD.

The heart of VinFast’s long-term India plan lies in its substantial commitment to local manufacturing. The two models introduced are strategically chosen for the diverse Indian market.
