Guwahati, Assam – June 20, 2024 – The North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation Ltd. (NEHHDC) is thrilled to announce the launch of the “Tejaswini Assam Ideathon 2024,” a groundbreaking business idea contest designed to support and empower enterprising women across Assam. This unique initiative provides a transformative platform for aspiring female entrepreneurs, fostering innovation and economic growth in the region.
Sectors for Innovation
Women from diverse backgrounds are invited to present their innovative ideas across six key sectors:
- Handicraft & Handloom
- Health & Wellness
- IT & ITES (including Media, Entertainment, Education, Logistics, etc.)
- Agri, Allied & Food Processing (including Floriculture & Horticulture)
- Leisure, Tourism & Hospitality
- Green & Sustainable Enterprises
Eligibility and Registration
The contest is open to women aged 18-50, including students, homemakers, working professionals, and entrepreneurs who have been in business for not more than three years. Interested participants can submit their ideas at Tejaswini Ideathon. The deadline for submissions is July 5th, 2024, with the final event scheduled for the last week of August 2024 in Guwahati.
Prizes and Mentorship
Participants will compete for a total prize pool of Rs. 5 Lakhs:
- 1st Prize: Rs. 1,50,000/-
- 2nd Prize: Rs. 1,00,000/-
- 3rd Prize: Rs. 75,000/-
Special prizes include:
- Three Best Student Ideas: Rs. 25,000/- each
- Women in Technology: Rs. 50,000/-
- Innovative Idea from Homemaker: Rs. 50,000/-
Additionally, the top 50 ideas will receive expert mentorship and guidance following the event, providing invaluable support to help turn their ideas into successful ventures.
