- CBSE has postponed several Class 10 and 12 board exams originally set for March 3, 2026.
- New dates now place Class 10 exams on March 11 and some Class 12 papers on April 10, 2026.
- Main exam cycle still begins from February 17 for both classes.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has updated its board examination schedule for the 2026 academic year, affecting students of Classes 10 and 12 nationwide. The latest revision pushes back some papers that were originally slated for March 3, extending the test calendar into March and April this year.
According to the board’s revised timetable, the Class 10 papers previously set for March 3 have been shifted to March 11, giving students extra days to prepare. Likewise, select Class 12 examinations, including Legal Studies and a few elective subjects, now have new dates in April, with some scheduled for April 10, 2026.
Despite these adjustments, the majority of the exam schedule remains unchanged. Both Class 10 and Class 12 board exams will continue to run in an offline pen-and-paper mode, with the main exam cycle starting on February 17, 2026. This core start date has been maintained to ensure that the broader timetable is not disrupted by the rescheduling.
Officials explained that the adjustments are limited only to a few papers and the rest of the subjects will follow the previously released exam calendar. Students are advised to refer to the updated date sheet issued by CBSE and adjust their revision plans accordingly to accommodate the new dates.
The revised schedule aims to offer students extra time for preparation, which many educators see as a small relief in a highly competitive exam environment. Parents and schools have been urged to check the board’s official notice and download the latest timetable to stay informed about the changes.
