- Government extends India AI Impact Summit 2026 by one day due to extraordinary turnout.
- Public exhibition closed on February 19 for VIP-only sessions, with expo reopening for all on Feb 20 and 21.
- Visiting hours stretched till 8 PM daily to manage crowd demand.
India’s marquee AI event, the India AI Impact Summit 2026, has been prolonged by an extra day, organisers confirmed on Wednesday. The government’s decision comes in response to spectacular public interest and visitation levels that far outpaced initial projections.
Originally scheduled to wrap up on February 20 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, the summit’s exhibition segment will now continue through Saturday, February 21. Officials emphasised that the extension aims to give more visitors, particularly students and tech enthusiasts, a chance to experience the showcase without overcrowding.
Due to heightened security and restricted access for dignitaries and high-level talks on Thursday, public entry will be paused on February 19. Event organisers said that government officials, invited delegates and accredited media will still have access on that day, but general visitors will need to return once exhibitions reopen the following day.
To further ease the pressure of large crowds, daily exhibition hours have been extended, with floors remaining open until 8 PM instead of the original closing time. This change reflects organisers’ efforts to balance public demand with logistical and safety considerations at one of India’s largest technology gatherings.
The summit has drawn considerable attention from both domestic and international stakeholders, showcasing emerging AI innovations, startups and global partnerships. Representatives from numerous countries, research communities and industry leaders have converged in New Delhi for discussions on the future of artificial intelligence, emphasising India’s role in shaping equitable AI adoption worldwide.
As the event extends into its newly announced final weekend, thousands more are expected to pass through the exhibition halls to explore tools, concepts and advances shaping the global AI landscape.
