  • Youth allegedly shot father after dispute over NEET preparation
  • Body dismembered and torso hidden inside blue drum
  • Missing complaint exposed the crime during police probe

A disturbing crime has come to light from Lucknow where a young man has been accused of killing his own father following repeated disagreements over his career path and preparation for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Police officials say the accused allegedly carried out the murder during the early hours of February 20 after tensions escalated inside their residence.

According to investigators, the victim, identified as Manvendra Singh, was shot dead with a licensed rifle during a heated argument with his son Akshat. Authorities believe the dispute stemmed from ongoing pressure on the youth to pursue a medical career and successfully clear NEET.

Following the killing, the accused reportedly attempted to destroy evidence by dragging the body from an upper floor of the house to a ground level room. Police allege that he then dismembered the remains and concealed the torso inside a plastic drum kept within the residence while disposing of other body parts at different locations outside the city.

The case initially surfaced after a missing person complaint was filed regarding the victim’s disappearance. During the investigation, officers discovered suspicious evidence inside the home which eventually led to the recovery of body parts stored in the drum. Subsequent questioning resulted in the accused allegedly confessing to the crime.

Officials stated that the young man had been working at his father’s liquor business but was reportedly unhappy with his professional situation. Investigators are now examining forensic samples from the residence and vehicle used to transport the remains in order to reconstruct the sequence of events.

The incident has reignited debate around intense academic expectations placed on students and the psychological impact of competitive examinations such as NEET, with authorities continuing their probe to determine the complete motive behind the killing.
