  • Confirms no change in existing booking timelines for consumers
  • Assures adequate LPG supply and urges people to avoid panic booking

Amid growing concerns over LPG availability and booking restrictions, the government has stepped in to clear the air surrounding recent claims about changes in cylinder booking rules.

Several reports and social media posts had suggested that the waiting period for booking LPG cylinders had been extended significantly. Some even claimed that consumers would need to wait longer than usual before placing their next refill request. However, officials have now dismissed these claims as misleading.

According to the latest clarification, there has been no new change in LPG booking rules, and the existing system continues as before. Authorities emphasized that consumers should not believe unverified information circulating online.

The government also reassured citizens that there is no shortage of LPG supply in the country. Adequate stock is available, and distribution systems are functioning normally. This statement comes at a time when global energy concerns and geopolitical tensions had triggered fears of disruption in fuel supplies.

Earlier, as a preventive measure to control panic buying and hoarding, the minimum gap between LPG refill bookings had been adjusted from 21 days to 25 days. The move was aimed at ensuring fair distribution among households and preventing misuse of resources.

Officials reiterated that such measures are temporary and meant to maintain balance in supply chains during uncertain times. Consumers have also been advised to avoid panic booking, as unnecessary demand can create artificial shortages and delays in delivery.

In conclusion, while discussions around LPG booking rules continue to circulate, the government has made it clear that no fresh changes have been implemented recently. Consumers can continue booking cylinders as per existing guidelines without concern.
