On his recent visit to Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated a massive wave of development projects exceeding Rs 42,000 crore, marking a significant step towards enhancing the state’s infrastructure and living standards. The Prime Minister’s agenda included the virtual launch and foundation stone laying of 15 airport projects nationwide, tallying up to an investment of over Rs 9,800 crore. Additionally, he inaugurated 12 new terminal buildings across various cities, including Pune, Kolhapur, Gwalior, and Lucknow, among others, significantly boosting the country’s aviation infrastructure.
In a move towards affordable housing, PM Modi launched the Light House Project (LHP) in Lucknow and Ranchi, promising over 2000 modern housing units equipped with cutting-edge amenities. This initiative aims to deliver sustainable housing solutions, reflecting a forward-thinking approach to urban development.
The transportation infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh also received a major boost with the announcement of road projects worth over Rs 19,000 crore. These projects are designed to enhance connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and catalyze socioeconomic development across the region.
Railway infrastructure was another focal point, with PM Modi laying the groundwork for rail projects valued at approximately Rs 8200 crore. These projects encompass the doubling and electrification of vital rail sections, the introduction of new rail lines, and the construction of bypass routes, promising a more efficient and expansive rail network.
The Prime Minister’s commitment to environmental sustainability was further underscored by the inauguration of multiple sewage treatment plants in cities like Prayagraj, Jaunpur, and Etawah. These initiatives aim to improve water quality and promote public health.
Following his engagements in Azamgarh, PM Modi continued to Varanasi, where he was scheduled to disburse the first instalment under the Mahatari Vandana Yojana in Chhattisgarh via video conferencing. This comprehensive development package demonstrates the government’s dedication to uplifting the infrastructure and quality of life in Uttar Pradesh and beyond.
