Bhojpuri cinema has been left in shock following the tragic death of actress Amrita Pandey, who was found deceased in her Bihar home on April 27. Hours before her death, Amrita uploaded a cryptic note on her WhatsApp status, which read, “Do naav me savaar thi uski zindagi, humne apni naav duba ke uska safar aasaan kar diya” (Their life was on two boats, we made their path easier by sinking our boat).
Amrita, who was reportedly struggling with depression and concerned about her dwindling career prospects in the entertainment industry, was last seen in the web series ‘Pratishodh.’ She had also appeared alongside Bhojpuri superstar Khesari Lal Yadav in the film ‘Deewanapan.’
The distressing event unfolded at the Divyadharma Apartment in Adampur Ship Ghat, where Jogsar Police found Amrita’s body. According to reports, Amrita’s sister discovered her hanging from a noose in her room around 3:30 pm. Despite immediate efforts to save her, Amrita was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The incident is currently under investigation by the Jogsar police station.
Amrita Pandey’s untimely death raises serious questions about the pressures and mental health challenges faced by those in the entertainment industry. Her family noted her concerns about not receiving enough work, highlighting the precarious nature of acting careers.
