After giving a tough fight to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha elections, the Opposition INDIA bloc swept the by-elections held in 13 Assembly seats across seven states. The INDIA bloc has already won six seats and is ahead in four others, while the BJP managed to secure just two seats. In Himachal Pradesh, the Congress won two of the three seats where by-elections were held.

- Congress won the Dehra Assembly seat for the first time with its candidate Kamlesh Thakur, the wife of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, defeating BJP candidate Hoshiyar Singh by a margin of 9,399 votes.
- Congress also won the Nalagarh seat.
- BJP managed to secure the Hamirpur seat.

- AAP’s Mohinder Bhagat won the Jalandhar West seat. AAP MP Sandeep Pathak remarked on the BJP’s tactics of poaching leaders and the people’s trust in CM Bhagwant Mann’s governance.
- West Bengal:
- Trinamool Congress candidates led in four seats.
- Tamil Nadu:
- The DMK secured the lone Assembly seat.
