- The RJD has accused the NDA coalition in Bihar of “dynastic politics” following the swearing-in of new ministers.
- The opposition party highlighted that several new ministers are close relatives of established NDA leaders.
- This political jab comes amidst the ongoing war of words between the ruling alliance and the opposition Mahagathbandhan.
PATNA – A fresh political storm has erupted in Bihar following the cabinet expansion of the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government on Tuesday. The opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) wasted no time in launching a sharp critique, labeling the move a blatant promotion of “dynastic politics” within the ruling coalition.
The ceremony at the Raj Bhavan saw several new faces inducted into the state ministry, a move intended to bolster the government’s representation. However, the RJD was quick to point out that a number of these new ministers are closely related to senior NDA figures, a fact they seized upon to question the alliance’s consistency on the issue of family-based politics.
In a pointed statement, the RJD’s social media team taunted the NDA, suggesting the coalition had “embraced dynasty” despite its frequent public condemnation of the practice. The party highlighted specific appointments, noting that the new ministers include the sons and other relatives of sitting Members of Parliament and established party leaders from within the NDA fold.
This verbal offensive from the RJD adds a new layer of intensity to the already fierce political rivalry in the state. The Mahagathbandhan, now in the opposition, appears to be positioning itself to counter the NDA not just on policy, but also on the grounds of political integrity and hypocrisy. The accusation is seen as an attempt to put the BJP and its allies on the defensive by turning a common criticism back on them.
As the new ministers assume their roles, the political discourse in Bihar is set to be dominated by this heated exchange, setting the stage for a contentious and closely watched battle in the state’s assembly.
