Bev Brock, the former partner of Australian motorsport legend Peter Brock, has passed away at the age of 77. The Brock family announced her death following a two-year battle with stage 4 cancer. She died peacefully at her home in Melbourne on Sunday morning.
Bev Brock was a pivotal figure in Australian motorsport, supporting Peter Brock through his illustrious racing career while also managing her roles as a parent and author. She was involved in the motorsport community for nearly three decades alongside Peter until their separation in 2005. The couple had two children together, Alexandra and Robert, and Bev had another son, James, from a previous marriage.
James Brock shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, highlighting his mother’s dedicated parenting and her integral role in supporting Peter Brock’s racing pursuits. Bev was recognized for her contributions to motorsport and community service with a Medal of the Order of Australia.
Beyond the racetrack, Bev authored two books about her life with Peter and an autobiography detailing their private life together. Although their romantic relationship ended before Peter’s untimely death in a 2006 rally crash, Bev always spoke highly of their time together, describing it as the most “amazing” years of her life.
Despite the complexities of their personal life and the legal battles over Peter Brock’s estate following his death, Bev remained dignified in public discussions about her former partner. She is remembered not only for her role in Peter Brock’s public life but also for her resilience and grace in handling life’s challenges.
