Mumbai Police have taken into custody the driver of a high-speed luxury car after a road accident late Monday night in the Juhu area that involved a vehicle from Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s security convoy and an autorickshaw. A legal case has been registered at Juhu Police Station under provisions related to rash and negligent driving.
According to police, a Mercedes-brand car traveling at high speed collided with an autorickshaw on a busy Juhu road shortly after 8.30pm. The impact caused the autorickshaw to overturn and crash into an Innova Crysta used as part of the star’s security entourage.
The collision damaged multiple vehicles and left the autorickshaw driver and a passenger injured. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, with one reported to be in serious condition. Local residents and emergency responders helped manage the scene.
Police identified the driver now in custody as the person operating the speeding Mercedes and have charged him under current traffic and safety laws. Investigators continue to gather evidence and statements from witnesses as part of the ongoing enquiry.
Star Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle Khanna were traveling ahead of the accident in another vehicle. Authorities and sources confirm the couple escaped unharmed and that the collision did not directly involve their primary car.
The incident has sparked discussions online, with clips of the crash circulating widely on social platforms. Police have urged motorists to respect speed limits and emphasised that enforcement action will follow in accordance with the law.
